Just as the name implies The CEREC Encyclopedia is intended to be used as an Encyclopedia, meaning that you can go directly to the chapter that interests you and then navigate via the “Scene Selection” to go directly to that section where you would like to learn more. However, if you are a new user to the CEREC System you can start with Chapter One where you will learn about the system itself, maintenance and the basics of the software and then progress through the series building you knowledge base as you progress.
As with any Encyclopedia this is an ever evolving information source and as such you will find references to the CEREC AU and AC systems as well as the Compact and MCXL Milling units. You will also find the series covers the 3.10, 3.40, 3.6X and the 3.8X software packages presently being used by the vast majority of CEREC Users around the world.
Throughout the series I have endeavored to provide accurate and clinically relevant information, however, as with any procedure in dentistry I have taken the liberty to share with the viewer what over 14 years of clinical usage and over 13 years of teaching the CEREC System has taught me. This is most apparent in the protocols and design techniques presented in the series. You will note that much of the information is initially presented from a basic or new user perspective building to much more advanced ideas as the series develops. This was done based on the feedback we have received from many offices that have used the series to train their staff members and new associates, some of whom have little or no experience in ceramic restorative techniques.
